5 Ways To Spruce Up Your Life.

Ready to get out of the rut of the same-old-same-old?

When we look back at our life what do we want to be reminded of? What do we want to be remembered for? What is the title of the story we are writing and what chapters lay inside?

Rewriting the same chapter, the same life experience over and over is what can make a life seem short yet sweet. Who wants a life of just one flavour, one lick, one treat or trick?

We must ask ourselves what is the purpose of life?

Yes, it’s deep, but it is also the only question worth asking. Why are we living? Who are we living for? What is the purpose of each day, month, year, decade, life?

In hopes this article sparks an urge to make a change, here are 5 ways you can redirect your life to one of passion, love, adventure and new experiences.

  1. Take the path less travelled.

Literally take a different way to work, walk to a different coffee shop. Get lost. Don’t use google maps. Just wander around the old and seek the new.

  2. Lean into your urges.

You over hear someone in the coffee shop taking about their favourite class at a gym you go to. Join in, connect and be open to meeting new people. Smile at strangers with the intention of starting small chat, sharing a small victory or complimenting their outfit/smile. Be open to meeting new people. You never know who might be the answer the problems you are having, everyone is our teacher.

  3. Take a class.

You know that thing that you always wanted to get good at? Dust off that guitar that has been sitting in your room for the last 8 months. Get a teacher, go to a studio, learn to dance salsa, speak Spanish, cook gourmet. Sign up and commit yourself, it will make you more accountable and you’ll meet new people interested in the same things as you!

  4. Say NO, no thanks, not now, just say no.

Make space in your life for the unknown. Leave room for spontaneity, leave room for the new, different and unthinkable/unimaginable experiences. Lean into the discomfort of not having a plan.

  5. Immerse yourself in an experince.

Go to a retreat that’s in a different country. Change up your day to day and jump head first into something new and different. You’ll be surprised by the type of person that can show up when you aren’t being reminded of who you are by your friends, family and co-workers. Maybe a totally new place, space and people is just what you need to discover those hidden parts of yourself.
